As a general rule on all software, we will follow Microsoft’s and other Vendor’s Policy, which is generally the current version -2. This means that we will support up to two versions old. If the software has been retired then it will fall outside our Support guarantees, but we will continue to offer limited support, if possible. It is important to note that retired software will open up your business to additional security risks.

Antivirus Solutions (Due to the nature of virus activity – these must be current). We only support EDR solutions. Standard antivirus products don’t cut it anymore.

Hardware

Nortec will support a multitude of devices. To be supported the devices (with some exceptions) must be vendor supported and have a current hardware support plan.

Network Infrastructure

  • Enclosed and secure network patch panel, with cable management and all ports clearly labelled and accessible
  • Network wall ports clearly labelled and accessible

Servers

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware support plan
  • Must have remote hardware access (Dell iDrac, HP iLo or similar)
  • Must be in a secure environment, with appropriate power and cooling resources
  • Hardware RAID\ SAN RAID – redundant disk system with battery-backed cache. Disks must be vendor-supported
  • Dual power supply
  • Dell, HP, Lenovo (These are preferred brands; others are supported if the above conditions are met)

UPS

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware support plan
  • Network management card
  • Sufficient battery to power all attached equipment for a minimum 20 mins
  • Appropriate software to cleanly shutdown servers upon power failure
  • APC, HP, Dell, Eaton (These are preferred brands; others are supported if the above conditions are met)

 NAS (Network Attached Storage)

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware support plan
  • Redundant RAID disks
  • Sufficient capacity to store min 5.2 times the size of all current backups
  • Qnap, Synology (These are preferred brands; others are supported if the above conditions are met)

Network Switches

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware support plan
  • IP manageable
  • Dlink, Netgear, TP-Link, HP, Cisco

Wireless Access

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware\security subscription support plan
  • Dlink, Ruckus, Ubiquity, Cisco

Firewall

  • Must be vendor supported, with current warranty\hardware\security subscription support plan
  • Sonicwall, Sophos SG\XG, Fortinet, Cisco, Watchguard

Internet

  • Business grade\NBN high-speed Internet connection, with minimum one static public IP address

Workstations / Notebooks

  • Must be less than five years old (PC), four years old (Laptops)
  • Meet the minimum software requirements above
  • Be a Core i5  or higher (or equivalent)
  • 8 GB RAM (Ideally 16 Gb)
  • Have a vendor onsite hardware warranty

Mobile Phones / Tablets

  • Support for M365 and approved business applications only
  • Android Tablets and Phones (n-2)
  • iOS Device (iPhones, Ipads) (n-2)

Covered Devices Equipment covered under this agreement is identified and limited to those with a Nortec Asset ID Label.

Devices not affixed with a label requiring support of any kind will be subject to time at the applicable Additional Support Rate.
